Almost 50 people attended our first Operations Showcase of the 2025 hosted by HAHN Automation Group (HAHN) and Rethink Robotics (Rethink). The photos simply do not do the crowd and energy justice!
Attendees first experienced how HAHN uses virtual reality in their sales and design process, before proceeding to the floor to see some of their robots in action: from a "simple" stamping operation to a machine tending application for injection molded parts. From there, participants went through to a second area, where Rethink demonstrated some of their cobot applications, including palletizing, pick-and-place, screwing (and unscrewing) and welding! These demonstrations were beautiful in their apparent simplicity and efficiency, which speaks to both the robots/cobots AND the respective staff members of HAHN and Rethink.
By the way, if you are wondering what the difference between a robot and a cobot is, the simplest explanation was provided by Lena Pysareva from Smurfit WestRock Packaging Solutions (thank you Lena!) as:
if you cross paths with a robot, it will run you over.
Traditional industrial robots move faster, are typically larger than cobots and require safety enclosures and processes (we have a member for that by the way...). Cobots move slower, are smaller and are designed to work WITH people. In sum, there is no reason not to start your automation journey today - ESPECIALLY if you are local. Just reach out!
