Well before the COVID-19 pandemic began, the EACC started work to develop and launch a new Italian Committee (tentatively named the Italian American Business Community) with a series of meals and discussions with the leadership of the Italian businesses among our members.
In the context of those discussions, we heard repeatedly concerns about healthcare costs for small and medium sized employers. Our executives asked if there was some way they could come together to better manage risks, improve purchasing power, and reduce costs while improving coverage for employees. And now with the pandemic upon us, this conversation is more timely than ever.
Since then, EACC Board Vice President Dominic Franchini (and Vice President of local health benefits provider HORAN) has been working with a number of these companies to launch a dialogue and a forum to discuss these topics. Of course, this is not just for Italian companies; all EACC members are invited and encouraged to sign the petition and join the discussion, and to invite others to become involved.
