On October 19, the EACC launched a new partnership with the University of Cincinnati (UC) that will give our members unique access to the breadth of talent, research and expertise that UC generates for our region. University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Valerio Ferme attended, as did Ryan Hays (UC’s new Chief Innovation Officer), the Deans and senior staff of the colleges of Engineering, business, and Experiential Learning and Design & Art, as well a number of student leaders. And the EACC was represented by our Board President (Dominic Franchini) and Vice President (Nelly Bonniol), several other members of our Board of Directors as well as numerous CEO’s and top executives from our member firms.
EACC Executive Director Todd Schwartz welcomed attendees by outlining the numerous benefits that UC and the EACC would gain from this new collaboration, and RJ Sargent, Director Strategic Partners - Office of Innovation, underscored UC’s leadership in academics and research. The brief formal presentation ended with Schwartz encouraging attendees to network, connect, and brainstorm on programs and activities that would bring value to faculty, students and EACC employers, and to help us jointly bring those ideas to life.
The first tangible benefit of this new partnership is an EACC-Only Job Fair that will take place on the UC campus on November 3 from 3:00 to 6:00pm. This event is only open to EACC members in good standing, and is being marketed to all UC Students as an opportunity to learn about job and career opportunities with companies operating in the Transatlantic business space. This is a great opportunity for every EACC member – especially small and medium sized firms – to connect with UC students for Co-ops, internships, and long-term employment.
