EACC Behind the Scenes - February 2019

Fostering an environment for networking among members of the Greater Cincinnati’s transatlantic business community hits at the heart of the EACC’s mission (“to stimulate business and networking relations between the Cincinnati Tri-State region and Europe”). Time and time again we have seen business deals and partnerships emerge from EACC events as new and fruitful connections and relationships are established.

In this vein, we are pleased to see the continued growth and success of our Stammtisch networking series. In the German-speaking regions of Europe, a Stammtisch (which can be roughly translated as ‘regulars table’) is an old tradition where friends and colleagues get together over food and drinks with no agenda – just for friendship and connection.  Our Stammtisch is hosted by the EACC’s Austrian-Swiss-German (ASG) Committee on the first Thursday of every month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Hofbräuhaus Newport. Attendance has grown to nearly 30 attendees at each event, and we regularly have attendees from a variety of industries, including service providers and manufacturers, as well as a steady stream of newcomers and potential members. The relationships developed are helping companies address real pain points, including challenges tied to workforce and talent development. Join us on March 7 at the ASG Committee’s Introduction to German Business Culture event and plan to attend Stammtisch directly after! Both events are open to EACC members and non-members. Please visit the event pages for additional details.

The EACC also offers another networking series, L’Aperitif, hosted by our French American Business Alliance (FABA). With recent FABA leadership changes and the closing of our previous venue (Palomino on Fountain Square), we regretfully did not host a L’Aperitif in January; however, we are eager and excited to announce the first L’Aperitif of 2019 on Monday, April 8 at Graydon Head & Ritchey’s office on Walnut St. downtown (a big thank you Richard La Jeunesse for hosting!). In addition to business networking, we look forward to holding a facilitated discussion to develop a renewed and refreshed vision for FABA as it relates to the organization’s role within the EACC and in the Cincinnati Tri-State region. FABA lies at the heart of the EACC, with the EACC having grown and evolved from its beginnings as the French American Trade Council. Members of the region’s French-American business community are strongly encouraged to attend. The event is open to EACC members and non-members.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming networking events!
