Back in October 2021 I reported that the EACC is planning a Business Development Trip to Italy in June 2022. Our planning continues apace with a great agenda and a great delegation.
Our group includes 14 travelers including representatives from Altix Consulting, REDI Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED, West Chester Township, HORAN, Modula, Miller Valentine Construction, Barnes Dennig, Duke Energy and of course the EACC (that would be me!). Jobs Ohio is also playing a big role in the trip, including sponsoring our ‘opening reception.’
We arrive in Venice on Saturday, June 11 and will spend two days recovering from jet lag before traveling to Milan for our first major program day on Monday the 13th. Highlights of that day include a briefing for potential founding members of a new EACC chapter in Italy; a private briefing for our delegation at the U.S. Consulate General about U.S.-Italy relations and the local business climate; and an ‘Opening Reception’ for our delegation with the leaders of the Italian and American business community in the region.
Tuesday and Wednesday we will be in Modena for a bit of fun and relaxation as well as some real work. Tuesday highlights include a visit to the Ferrari Museum (including the test track!) as well as a farm-to-table dinner prepared by famed chef Massimo Bottura. And on Wednesday we are working with Confindustria (roughly the Italian equivalent of the National Association of Manufacturers) to organize a “Suppliers Conference” for SME Italian Manufacturers who are (or who should be) looking to invest in the United States. That will take place at the Modula HQ in Modena and include a tour of their factory.
Thursday we move to Firenze where we have a busy day meeting local government and business officials; then Friday we will enjoy a final day relaxing in Siena before returning to Cincinnati.
Don’t forget that we intend to do a similar trip to France in 2023, so if you want to be part of that experience, be sure to let me know!
