About Perfetti Van Melle
Perfetti Van Melle is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and marketers of confectionery and chewing gum. Always innovating what confection can do, Perfetti continues to create imaginative products and brands that are enjoyed in more than 150 countries around the world.
In 1946, brothers Ambrogio and Egidio Perfetti started producing sweets in a town outside Milan, Italy. Following World War II, the brothers created Italy’s first chewing gum brand, Brooklyn. Fashioned after the chewing gum that American GIs shared during the war, Brooklyn features New York’s iconic Brooklyn Bridge on the wrapper.
In 1900 in Breskens, The Netherlands, Izaak Van Melle had begun operating a small confectionery business by converting his father’s bakery, a bakery that had already been operating for more than 60 years.
Now, more than a century later, Perfetti Van Melle delights consumers around the world with extraordinary candies and chewing gums.
Perfetti's Erlanger, KY office and manufacturing facility are headquarters for Perfetti Van Melle USA. Here the company manufactures Airheads Bars, Airheads Xtremes Belts and Bites, and packages Mentos Gum.
